Forming and editing this blog post in Contibute CS3. A little funky, but easier than editing on the Apple iPhone. The CS3 package is surpisingly agile. It’s quiker than the Studio MX package that was on my mac, and on par with the verions that’s installed on the work laptop. I have yet to find any showstopping flaws (on either platform), though I have yet to fire up the Bridge. Not sure if I ever will. I can browse with the built in preview browser in PhotoShop CS3 if I need to. I guess I’ll need to add the visual quickstart from PeachPit and the video training from Lynda or Total Training to my wish lists.
Well, after joining the flock for the iPhone, I’ve gone and trailed after all the other little creatures and purchased a copy of the new, last in the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. So you probably won’t hear from me for a day or so…
I, like many others (hence the sheep reference in the title), have purchased an iPhone and am attempting my first blog posting using the touch screen to type in my entry. It’s a little more difficult than I thought it would be, though it is pretty dang cool. It may take awhile to get the hang of this with my large-ish thumbs. It was fairly easy to log into wordpress to create this posting, but the actual act of typing may take some getting used to, so you may see shorter entries from the road/iPhone.
Ray Candem (ColdFusion Jedi) has posted the source for RIAForge on his blog. I’m not sure when Ray finds the time to sleep. He is certainly prolific in his output. He’s written a variety of applications that have seen wide use in the community — everything from BlogCFC (the defacto ColdFusion blog code) to Soundings (survey code) and beyond. He hosts coding contests for developers of all experience levels, answers questions and seems to like LOST and Battlestar Galactica. If you get the chance, read his blog.
From MacUpdate:
MacUpdate has partnered with the 7 best selling Mac programs on mupromo.com. You can buy the bundle for $49.99 instead of $219.88, a savings of $169.89. This amazing offer won’t last long.
Your Deal: As the Mac community comes together, you collectively increase bundle sales. When you do, you unlock 3 bonus applications that become part of the bundle for free. When buying, you become the immediate owner of the first 7 applications: GraphicConverter, Fetch, iWOW, GarageSale, Cocktail, ProfCast, and Amadeus Pro. Then the Mac community unlocks 3 more applications into the bundle for free.
They are at 2296 bundles, 204 bundles from unlocking little snitch. When 5000 bundles are reached, Intaglio will be added to the bundle.
Check out MacUpdate Promo for more details.
Here it is, the Friday after a mid-week holiday. For some reason it feels like a Tuesday. I did the gym this morning (two days in a row for me, yay) and i’m feeling the need for a nap, and it’s not even 9am. When did I get so old? I suppose it could be worse and tomorrow could actually be Wednesday. I’ll refrain from going to the gym tomorrow and do a three mile walk. Maybe I’ll even take the nap I’m daydreaming about. Or maybe I’ll just work so I can feel caught up for about an hour on Monday.
Here is the second installment of my Flex bookmarks: Articles that I need to read (most with code samples) and Lists of other links.
Happy Fourth of July! OK. that’s out of the way.
This will be an auspicious post. A dump of my Flex bookmarks. I find that I currently have them on one computer/browser and need them on another. What better way to share them with myself (and others)?
Welcome to this little corner of the universe, or as I like to call it:
Yet Another Code (Specifically ColdFusion & Possibly Flex Related) Blog.
I hope to go beyond that mouthful and write/opine about things above and beyond code, but I thought it prudent to chose a subject to focus on — so that something actually gets written. I suppose I can always branch out later :- )
I’ve been developing in Allaire Macromedia Adobe ColdFusion since ‘99, though I am nothing but a novice at it in many respects. Flex is a totally new beast for me, though I have (crudely) developed in Flash.
As I go along, coding and learning, I’ll be sharing my journey. Hopefully I’ll have some interesting stories to share.
